Editing Scopus Institutional Logo or Text

The Edit Scopus Institutional Logo or Text page allows you to edit the header and footer areas on the Scopus user interface to display information or provide links to your end users.

Language Support

All pages in the Elsevier Admin Tool which provide User record information or present information to a product end user (such as Institution Text) support the entry of UTF-8 characters.

Languages and locales are formatted as: <Language_Name> + “ [” + <Locale_Name> + “]”, with available selections determined at the Product level.

Available languages

• English [United States]
• Chinese [China]
• French [France]
• German [Germany]
• Japanese [Japan]
• Spanish [Spain]

When you have completed your Institutional Logo or Text, ensure your Institutional Logo or Text is displaying properly by viewing in Scopus.

Group Level Information

When you are editing Scopus Institutional Logo or Text at the Group level, default settings from the Account level are displayed. You can use these defaults, or you can enter new settings.

For example

To edit your header logo or text

1. Click "Brought to you by" Text to specify text for your institution's banner. Enter your institution's name in the corresponding text box exactly as you want it to appear on application pages.

   Note

   Maximum text length is 80 characters and 25 characters when a Scopus Quick Link is applied. See Scopus Quick Link for more information. Do not enter the text Brought to you by... The Admin Tool automatically adds this text to before your entry. For example   If you enter My University Scientific Archives in the text box, the banner displays as Brought to you by My University Scientific Archives. If you select "Brought to you by" Text, the Header Image URL option will be disabled and unavailable for use.

2. Click Header Image URL if you want your institution's name to appear as an image in the banner. Specify a link to the .gif file you want to use.

   Note

   Maximum image size is 150 by 22 pixels. You must specify the complete URL and file name or the banner image will not work properly. For example   The format of the URL should be as follows: http://www.myuniversity.edu/scientific/archives/images/stm.gif If you select Header Image URL, the "Brought to you by" Text option will be disabled and unavailable for use.

3. Optional: Click Header Link URL if you want the text logo or image logo to be a link to your institution's website. Enter your institution's complete URL in the Header Link URL text box.

   Note	If you want your institution's text or image logo to appear a link, leave this text box blank.

   For example

   The format of your URL should be as follows: http://www.myuniversity.edu OR http://www.myuniversity.edu/scientific/archives/home

4. Click one of the following:

   Click Copy ScienceDirect Header & Footer or Copy Scopus Header & Footer to copy information contained with the Edit ScienceDirect or Scopus Institutional Logo or Text pages

   Note	If you do not have access to ScienceDirect or Scopus, these buttons will not display.

   Click Save.

To Edit Your Footer Logo

1. Click Footer Image URL to specify a link to the .gif file you want to use for the footer logo.

   Note	You must specify the complete URL and file name or the banner image will not work properly. For example, the format of the URL should be as follows: http://www.myuniversity.edu/scientific/archives/images/logo.gif

2. Optional: Click Footer Link URL If you want the image logo to be a link to your institution's website, enter your institution's complete URL in the Footer Link URL text box.

   Note	If you want your institution's image logo to appear without the link, leave this text box blank.

   For example

   The format of your URL should be as follows:http://www.myuniversity.edu OR http://www.myuniversity.edu/scientific/archives/home

3. Click one of the following:

   Click Copy ScienceDirect Header & Footer or Copy Scopus Header & Footer to copy information contained with the Edit ScienceDirect or Scopus Institutional Logo or Text pages

   Note	If you do not have access to ScienceDirect or Scopus, these buttons will not display.

   Click Save.
