Account IP RangesSplitting IP Address Ranges into Subsets

An IP address range used by a Group can be split into smaller ranges, which can then be moved from the Group to a different Group, removed, or split further.

Note An IP Address Range split takes immediate effect.

Options

The Split IP Address Range page displays the IP addresses that you have selected and provides you with two options:

Option 1) To split the IP automatically, the Admin Tool calculates how many subsets will be generated and then splits a selected IP Address range.
NoteWhen you select to automatically split an IP address range, the Confirm Splitting of IP Address Range page will display.

Click Go to automatically split your IP address.

Option 2) To enter a specific IP address to isolate is based upon your selection of an IP range format followed by the Admin Tool providing the remaining IP address ranges after the split.

Click Go to enter specific IP address information.

To Split an IP Address

  1. On the Edit Account IP Address Ranges page, select the IP address range that you would like to split.
  2. Click Split into subset. The Split IP Address Range into Subsets page will display.
