Creating/Managing Remote Access Registration IDs

A Remote Access Registration ID is a user ID that allows remote access to ScienceDirect or Scopus content. With this ID, an end user can access ScienceDirect or Scopus from outside your institute's IP ranges. An Administrator can send Remote Access Registration IDs to their users by supplying their email addresses, including the start and end dates for applying these IDs for user access.

To Create/Manage Remote Access Registration IDs

1. In Create Registration IDs, complete the following:
   • From Group, select the Group to which the Remote Access Registration ID will be associated. All Groups available for the Account are listed here in alphabetical order.

     Note	Group level Administrators will only see their Group name. An Account Administrator will have access to all Groups associated with the Account.

   • In E-mail List, enter the email addresses you want to associate with a Remote Access Registration ID.
     For example

     

     Note	You can only submit 1,000 email addresses at a time when creating Remote Access Registration IDs.

2. Within User's Product Access Dates, complete Group Membership Date information:
   • In Membership Begin Date, enter an a start date. The Begin Date must be entered in the dd-mon-yyyy (Day, Month, and Year) format.
   • In Membership End Date, enter an ending date for the user to Group association. The Membership End Date determines when a user will no longer have access to Group entitlements. The Membership End Date has two options available:
     • Fixed End: Enter the user's End Date in the field in the dd-mon-yyyy (Day, Month, and Year) format.
     • Trial Period: Enter the number of days after the Group Begin Date to determine how long a user will have access to the Group's entitlements.
3. Click Submit to complete your Remote Access Registration IDs. The Create/Manage Remote Access Registration IDs (List) page will list your Remote Access Registration IDs.
