Search, View, and Modify User Profiles Search, View, and Modify User Profiles- Search

A User Profile contains configuration and access information for a specific user. Using the Search, View, and Modify User Profiles- Search page, you may search for a user's individual profile in the Admin Tool.

Language Support

All pages in the Elsevier Admin Tool which provide User record information or present information to a product end user (such as Institution Text) support the entry of UTF-8 characters.

Languages and locales are formatted as: <Language_Name> + “ [” + <Locale_Name> + “]”, with available selections determined at the Product level.

  • Account Administrators can search for User Profiles in all Groups associated with their Account.
  • Group Administrators can only search for User Profiles in their Group.

To Locate a User

  1. Required: Enter at least one character in one of the following fields to execute a User Profile search.
    Notes
    • You can use upper and lower case characters in your search criteria.
    • You can use the wildcard (or universal) character * in your search.
    User NameThe name associated with the User Profile.
    Given (First) NameThe first name associated with the User Profile.
    Family (Last) NameThe last name associated with the User Profile.
    E-mail AddressThe e-mail address associated with the User Profile.
  2. Optional: If you want to restrict your User Profile search, select your search options from one of the following lists:

    By Group: Lists all Groups in the Account alphabetically. All Groups is the default setting.

    By Membership Type: Lists all Membership Types available in the Admin Tool. You can select one of the Membership Types to narrow your User Profile search.

    Show Inactive Users:Limits your User Profile search to only inactive users if set to Yes

  3. Click one of the following:
    SearchTo initiate your User Profile search.
    View AllTo list all users in the Account or Group.
