Editing ScienceDirect External Linking Settings- Link Resolver

This Admin Tool page is displayed when a link resolver is selected for editing.

Standard

A standard link resolver uses text and an accompanying image to represent a link external to ScienceDirect.

To Configure Your Standard Link Resolver

1. In Specify Link Resolver Setting,

   Link Resolver Name	The name of the link resolver.
   Enabled	Determines whether or not the link is available for use in ScienceDirect.
   Link Resolver Base URL	The URL address for the link.

2. In Link Presentation, complete the following:
   

   Notes

   When Default Link Image is selected, the Custom Image and Custom Link Display buttons and related fields are unavailable. When Custom Image is selected, the Default Link Image and Custom Display Link Text buttons and related fields are unavailable. When Custom Display Link Text is selected, the Default Link Image and Custom Image buttons and related fields are unavailable.

   Default Link Image	Click this button to use the default image assigned to the link resolver. Note If an image for the link resolver is not available, Default Link Image will not display.
   Custom Image	Click this button to use an image other than the default associated with this link resolver. When this button is selected, complete the following: URL of Custom Image The URL address of the image that is to be used for the link resolver. Custom Alt Text The alternate text for the link resolver image. Alternate text displays when a mouse cursor is moved over an image.
   Custom Link Display Text	Click this button to add text for your custom image. When this button is selected, you must enter a portion of text which will display to the ScienceDirect user as the link resolver.

3. In Specify Link Dates,complete the following:

   Always Display Link	Select this option to always display the link resolver.
   Specify Link Display Dates	Select this option to only display the link resolver during a specified date range. Begin The starting date for the link resolver. The link resolver will not display until this date. End The ending date for the link resolver. The link resolver will not display past this date.

4. Click Save to save your link resolver settings.ORClick Cancel to return to the Account ScienceDirect Information page.
